Chemical Peel Overview

A chemical peel is the use of chemicals to remove layers of damaged or aged skin to reveal newer, softer, younger looking skin. Phenol is the chemical normally used for a deep peel. Because deep-peeling agents could bleach the skin, deep peels are not recommended for dark-skinned patients.
