Medium Chemical Peels
Would you like to smooth away aged looking, damaged or impure skin to reveal smooth and youthful skin? This is the idea of chemical peels. A chemical peel exfoliates the skin in order to remove damaged or aged layers of skin to expose the softer, more youthful skin underneath. Chemical peels are not limited to the face; you can also have an herbal peel done on your back, stomach, upper arms or thighs.
Out of the different types of chemical peels, medium chemical peels are the second strongest form. There are benefits of medium chemical peel, but depending on chemical peel procedure, there are sometimes medium chemical peel problems.
Different Chemical Peels - Medium
The medium chemical peel is the first of three types of chemical peels. The superficial peel is the mildest form of chemical peel, and is safe for all skin types. Normally superficial peels use mild solutions like glycolic acid or dry ice. A medium peel is harsher than a superficial peel and basically causes a second-degree burn of the skin. The harshest form of chemical peel is the deep peel. A deep peel penetrates through several layers of skin. Because deep-peeling agents could bleach the skin, deep peels are not recommended for dark-skinned patients.
Medium Chemical Peel Procedure
Medium chemical peels are very effective in smoothing the surface of the skin and making the skin look vital and fresh. A medium chemical peel can also improve superficial discoloration and eliminate fine wrinkles. A medium chemical peel will do nothing for acne scars or dynamic wrinkles, however. Medium chemical peels can be performed using various chemicals. TCA (trichloro acetic acid) is the most common. Jessner's solution, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and other agents are also used.
Benefit Of Medium Chemical Peel
A medium chemical peel can improve the color, freshness and texture of our skin, your skin tone, and help erase fine wrinkles. It can also improve superficial discolorations like age spots and blotches, and can sometimes even improve dark circles under your eyes. Medium peels can be repeated every 3 to 6 months. Unlike deep peels, medium peels can be safely done on people with olive and light brown skin. They may also be used in some people with dark brown skin, although the risk of discoloration is higher.
Medium Chemical Peel Problem
Medium peels do offer some disadvantages, however. While they improve fine wrinkles, they offer no improvement whatsoever for dynamic wrinkles. For deeper wrinkles, a deep chemical peel may be necessary. For best results you will need to care for your skin before your peel, and anticipate two or more peels at three-month intervals to do the job. The effects may dissipate after six months to a year, but improvement will likely persist if you adhere to a skin care program with micro peels.
